Creating emails
At Cloudflare we send a variety of emails to our customers and sometimes the customers of our customers. As an email is another touch point a customer will have with our product, it's important that the implementation is held to a high standard, just as we do with our traditional dashboards.
The management of an email is done usualy at a product team or feature level. There is some degree of oversight from the Application Services team, who owns the engine responsible for email creation (Cloudflare Postal Service aka CFPS). However, the templates which are consumed are created at the discretion of the individual product teams or features.
There is however some degree of overlap of look and feel between some of the product emails and those sent to customer/prospects from Marketing. This is a great start, and is paving the way for all the other emails to follow.
This piece of work aims to create a new baseline template, with documented standards for text, spacing and the introduction of "components" for use in emails.
